Police on status of Pastor G allegations

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- The Richmond Police Department is speaking out about a cloud of speculation surrounding a pastor involved in its faith based program.

Despite the allegations that became so public this week against Pastor Geronimo Aguilar of The ROC church in Richmond, police confirmed Wednesday they don't have an active complaint or investigation against the pastor. They want to make it clear they don't investigate based on speculation.

Protestors set up shop outside The ROC or Richmond Outreach Center this week. They were trying to send a message about Pastor Aguilar or Pastor G, as he's known throughout the community.  The signs they displayed detail accusations of sex with underage girls, adultery and embezzlement.

Chesterfield doctor helping to raise funds for officer shot in Boston

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT)- The Virginia Military Institute grad who was injured in the shootout with the Boston bombing suspects is making progress in his recovery.

Officer Richard "Dic" Donohue wrote a statement on the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority blog.  A picture of him and his wife at the hospital was also released.

Now his VMI classmates are busy raising money to help him and his family.  One of the organizers is a local doctor.

There's still a bullet in his leg, but according to the police blog Officer Donohue says he's not in pain.  He writes, "I cannot begin to properly thank everyone involved in my recovery."

"It turns out he had pretty much lost all the blood in his body," says Dr. Salmaan Khawaja.  He is a neuropsychologist with Bon Secours in Chesterfield and he knows Officer Donohue.  They are in the same graduating class at the VMI.

12 INVESTIGATES: Political scandal at the Executive Mansion

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- A judge will hear arguments Thursday on whether state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli can remove his office from a case that's become a political scandal.

The FBI is even asking questions, and it all started with a cook in the kitchen.

There hasn't even been a hearing, but the back and forth of court documents really illustrates the lives of the people at the Executive Mansion.

Todd Schneider claims he's a whistle blower and the charges against him are retaliation. State Police have charged the ex-chef with four counts of embezzling property from the 200-year-old Executive Mansion.

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- A Richmond woman faces reckless driving charges for crashing her car into the Morton's Steakhouse in Shockoe Bottom.

Police say Michelle R. Ambers, 31, crashed her car into the restaurant's front window around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

People inside were shocked to see the car come crashing through without warning. No one was hurt, which is amazing considering the crash came during the busy dinner hour.

Police have not said what caused the driver to crash into the steakhouse.

Morton's stayed open after the accident and plans to remain open Wednesday with a board up on the damaged window.

Creepy Richmond cab ride ends with driver fired

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- A Richmond woman claims she was the victim of a creepy cab ride. The taxi company is now taking action.

"I was scared," sad Alison Renahan. "I was nervous. I didn't know what to do."

Napoleon Taxi is reviewing video of that Saturday night ride and promising big changes after admitting one of their drivers broke the law.

Alison took to Facebook declaring, "Richmond ladies-be cautious! Don't use Napoleon taxi."

Renahan claims the driver picked up a second person during her trip and that man - a stranger - touched her leg inappropriately; moments later, the cab pulled up to her front door.

"I was very uncomfortable," said Renahan. "I told the driver that I didn't agree to that, and I was forced into that situation anyway and my safety was really compromised."

We went straight to the president of Napoleon Taxi.

"So what happens with that driver?" we asked company president Jonathan Trainum.

Money has a lot to do with it - even Angie herself comes clean on who's on the list and how they got there.

But how big a part does money play?

"There are all sorts of layers of 'pay to play,'" said Hugh Joyce, personable president of James River Air, and the company's long-time pitch man.
