Celebrate India's diverse cultures at the Festival of India | Events

The Festival of India is this weekend, October 8-9 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The festival is an annual event and begain in 1981.  The weekend will offer the opportunity to celebrate and explore India’s diverse culture and tradtions, including authentic regional food, arts, crafts, music and dance.

The performances will consist of classical and modern Indian live performances.  One can also sample many varieties of Indian cusine, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.  These foods are supplied by local Indian restaurants and families and prepared fresh at the festival.

Last year, more than 20,000 people attended the festival and most of the proceeds go directly to the Hindu Center of Virginia. Most proceeds from the festival go directly to the Hindu Center of Virginia.
