Holiday to delay trash and recycling collections

Curbside recycling and trash collections through the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority will be delayed the week of July 4 – 8 due to the Monday, Fourth of July holiday.

No collections will be made on July 4, so all collections that week will occur on the day following the normal collection day. Friday collections will occur on Saturday.

The holiday schedule change affects curbside recyclers in Ashland, Colonial Heights, Chesterfield County, Hanover County, and portions of Richmond (blue week only).

Trash collection in Ashland, Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Petersburg will occur on the day following normal collection.

For more information, contact the Recycling Hotline at 340-0900 or the Trash Collection Hotline at 425-0500.

CVWMA will offer the option to recycle in larger carts later this month or the first part of August, but there will be a fee to purchase the larger cart.
