President campaign stop in Richmond
News

Campaign workers are putting together the final touches for President Barack Obama's visit to Richmond.

First Lady Michelle Obama is the biggest name to be with the President when he comes to Richmond Saturday. But one local celebrity is also pitching in to help the president get re-elected. VCU Head Basketball Coach Shaka Smart will host President Obama's rally.

Smart will welcome both the President and First Lady in this campaign stop. Former Governor and current Senate candidate Tim Kaine will also be at the rally along with Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones. The President is hoping some of this star power will help widen his lead over Mitt Romney in Virginia.

According to the latest Washington Post Poll, President Obama leads Romney by seven percentage points. The poll also shows voters in the Commonwealth are evenly divided on the White House's major policies.

The President re-election rally is Saturday at VCU's Siegel Center, doors open at 1:45. You need to RSVP for tickets, but it's first come first serve.
