RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- The audit is officially on at city hall into a program a whistle blower says is wasting your tax dollars.
NBC12.com was the first to tell you about a consultant who says he was fired by the city for exposing mismanagement and discrepancies in an $18 million budget. He was helping the city launch a new computer software that is supposed to streamline city hall and save money.
The City is now considering delaying the project for a year. The former consultant says stopping the launch would waste even more taxpayer money.
Several City Council members asked for this audit, which could take several months to wrap up.
