Robbery the motive for double shooting in Church Hill
News

CHURCH HILL, VA (WWBT)- Richmond Police are looking for two men wanted in connection with a shooting in Church Hill.  Two women, police are not releasing their identities, are now in the hospital.

A forensic team was at the home located in the 1100 block of 27th Street for hours.  The 911 calls started coming in at 1:30 a.m.

"We heard three quick and then we heard three more following," says Ray Dull, a neighbor.

When police arrived, two women had been shot.  Officers say this crime is not random and the motive is robbery.

Two men are now wanted in connection with this shooting.

"There's always something going on here: yelling, throwing people out," says Dull.  "It's always loud noise, drinking, on into the evening."

Neighbors say police have been called to this house before.

"At least five, six sirens go by every night," says Dull.

But they're shocked a shooting could happen when Richmond's First Police Precinct is about two blocks away.

Dull lives across the street and says he's lived in Church Hill for years. But now, he has a new errand on his list: finding a new place to live.

"We are talking with our realtor this morning," he said.

Neighbors we spoke to say officers are seen around the neighborhood frequently.

The description of the suspects is vague, but police tell us they have a few strong leads.  If you know anything call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.  Tips can be anonymous.
