Police suspect one man robbed three people near VCU campus
News

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- One man is suspected of robbing several people at gunpoint on or near the VCU campus Tuesday night.

The first one happened on campus, but the second and third happened off-campus, on West Clay Street. That's in the Carver neighborhood.

The first robbery happened right  in the middle of campus, where the first victim says he was going into a building when the robber came up to him, threatened him with a handgun, and took his wallet and phone.

Then the suspect took off towards Harrison and Floyd, but it didn't stop there.

Police say 10 minutes later, half a mile away in the 1300 block of West Clay Street, two more people were also robbed of their wallets and phone.

Then another 10 minutes later, in the 700 block, the robber threatened the third victim and robbed them of the same items.  That third victim, police say, saw the robber get into a white Chevy Impala with a spotlight.

We're working on getting more details on what the suspect looked like.
