“Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays”
Richmond Animal League, the area’s oldest non-profit “no-kill” organization, will once again aim to place every pet in a loving, permanent home for the holidays. In the event that some pets don’t meet their forever family before December 22, pets will be placed in temporary foster homes.
“This is the third year of this initiative. We call it Operation Silent Night and on December 23rd, we hope for just that, a silent night,” said Elizabeth Thomas, RAL’s communication manager. In each of the past two years, over 100 RAL animals have either found forever homes or been placed in loving foster homes during the event. RAL aims to repeat that success for the hundreds of animals awaiting adoption this holiday season.
Operation Silent Night begins December 13th and runs through December 22nd.
